Forgestar Sponsors Formula Drift Drivers in 2022 Season

May 10, 2022

Garden Grove, CA MARCH 24, 2022— MOMO Motorsport and Forgestar has announced a two-driver campaign for the 2022 Formula DRIFT Pro Championship season.

Matt Field, Drift Cave Motorsports driver who completed his first season with MOMO and Forgestar last season will continue in partnership with both brands as he looks to build on his successful 2021 campaign. Field finished runner up in the championship with one victory and five podium finishes.

“I am very happy to continue my work with MOMO and Forgestar. We have had a sensational first season together and I am confident that we can build on this experience and become even better. I am feeling relaxed and eager to get the season started,” Field said.

Joining the MOMO Motorsport and Forgestar team for 2022 will be Dylan Hughes, who will pilot the Dylan Hughes Racing Royal Purple/Permatex BMW as he continues to climb the ranks of the PRO class. In his first PRO season, the young driver finished 15th, while 2021 saw Hughes reach the podium twice and finish 8th overall.

“I am proud to be a part of the MOMO and Forgestar team. I have high expectations for myself this season and I’m determined to compete for the championship. I can’t wait to get into the car at Streets of Long Beach next weekend,” Hughes said.

Field and Hughes will run MOMO equipment in their competition cars, lightweight FIA-approved seats, 6-point FIA-approved cam-lock harness belts, and MOMO steering wheels. Both drivers will also wear custom MOMO race suits, gloves, and shoes from the MOMO Motorsport collection.

Both drivers will also be sporting the race-inspired Rotary Formed Forgestar wheels on their respective competition cars. Matt Field once again outfits his C7 Corvette with the battle-tested Forgestar F14 Super Deep profile, which allows clearance for big brake kits thanks to its larger offset range. Dylan Hughes will utilize the lightweight monoblock construction Forgestar F14 wheels in anthracite on his BMW.

“We are thrilled to be expanding our presence in the Formula DRIFT series for 2022,” said Andres Cisneros, President of MW Company. “The opportunity to work with these high-caliber drivers is invaluable to our innovation and ability to build performance products that translate to the streets.”

The 2022 Formula DRIFT season kicks off at Streets of Long Beach on April 1-2.
