This particular vehicle, a Nova Super Sport, is a vehicle that was transformed from a trim option to a performance package for 1968 model range.
It was one of the smallest muscle cars ever fielded by Detroit, featuring a 5.7 liter V8 engine, delivering 295 horsepower as the base engine offering. However, the vehicle could also be ordered with a big-block 6.5 liter V8 engine delivering 375 horsepower and 415lb-ft (563Nm) of torque. Both engine options could be coupled with a M-21 close-ratio four-speed manual, the heavy-duty M-22 "Rock Crusher" four-speed manual, or the three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic 400 automatic transmission.
