This widebody Scion FRS comes with a complete aero kit, several performance and suspension modifications, topped off with a set of Forgestar M14 modular forged wheels with Michelin Tires, making this a complete build
You gotta love these cars! After all, it's three cars in a single package: the
Toyota 86,
Scion FRS and
Subaru BRZ. And yes, these are basically the same, but just rebadged for their respective markets. And while the car looks incredibly good, the only caveat is the lack of a turbocharged option - something FRS/86/BRZ owners have been vocal about. However, even in this NA (Naturally Aspirated) form, the vehicle is still a powerful little beast.
The FRS uses a 2.0 liter flat-four engine. Known by the Toyota code 4U-GSE and Subaru code FA20, this naturally aspirated engine uses Subaru's flat-four engine design, with the addition of Toyota's D-4S injection system, which uses Gasoline direct injection (GDI). In turn, the engine delivers 200 horsepower and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) of torque at a rather sweet-sounding 6,400 RPM.
The 86, BRZ, and FR-S are offered with two 6-speed transmissions: an in-house developed Toyota TL70 manual gearbox (based on Aisin AI's AZ6
) and an Aisin-Warner A960E automatic transmission. The latter is used on the Lexus IS 250, albeit modified for this vehicle. The latter uses a traditional wet torque converter design, but its software has been engineered to mimic the response of a dual-clutch transmission. The automatic transmission uses three different modes: Sport, Snow, and Normal. Finally, for most models, a Torsen style limited-slip differential is standard, providing ample traction & control in various high-performance driving situations.
This black Scion FRS comes with a bevvy of aftermarket additions, making it a gorgeous looking tuning project. Most notably, you'll find a complete
Rocket Bunny V1 widebody kit installed alongside a Rocket Bunny V2 ducktail wing, adding a great dose of aggressive looks to this vehicle. Furthermore, it allows the vehicle to receive a set of impressively deep-dish
Forgestar M14 modular forged wheels. For this build, these wheels are
sized 18x9.5 in the front and a staggering 18x11 in the rear. Impressive, to say the least. Finally, the wheels feature a
Bronze Burst finish. In addition, the wheels are wrapped in
Michelin Pilot Sport tires, allowing for improved handling and driving dynamics.
Furthermore, this Scion FRS has some more tricks up its sleeve. Namely, a set of BC Coilovers is added, allowing the owner to drop the vehicle per his needs, but also, to improve its handling quite a bit. In addition to that, a set of Vland headlights, Valenti taillights, a set of Seibon side skirts, an APR front splitter is installed. However, that's not all.
This Japanese power rocket also comes with StopTech drilled rotors, an SRT header back exhaust, custom carbon fiber rear spats, Z-Spec body kit hardware, a competition clutch, flywheel, a forged clutch fork and pivot, all making this car go and stop faster. One complete build, no matter how you put it.
