This American muscle car, powered by a 6.2L V8 engine, delivering 455 horsepower and coming with two transmission system options, starts with just a $36,590 MSRP price tag. While it comes with the same engine found in the
SS, LT1 comes with just a handful of features, losing items like magnetic ride control, leather seating, and some other, not needed in racing situations, luxury amenities, and options. In turn, one could argue that the LT1 is the perfect starting point for a drag racing car build.
This particular black Camaro LT1 comes with more than a few aftermarket upgrades. And for this build, anything that weighs a lot and doesn't make the car go faster is not welcome. And judging by the amount of carbon fiber added to this Camaro LT1, weight savings was one of the key ingredients for this build. As you will see in the images part of this photoshoot, this vehicle is laden with carbon fiber pieces. As a result, the weight of the car is kept low, allowing the monstrous V8 engine to deliver all its power and making this car go fast in a straight line.
For this project, the owner added a carbon fiber hood, vented to allow the engine better cooling and looking pretty damn impressive. The hood is accentuated by a carbon fiber lip spoiler, giving the perfect aggressive note to the front of this vehicle. In addition, a carbon fiber trunk is also added, followed by a rear trunk spoiler, helping to keep this Camaro's booty planted to the ground on the drag strip.
This is followed by a complete
Borla exhaust system, featuring a set of carbon fiber exhaust tips, allowing this Camaro to release all its anger in a deep growl. The stopping power is improved thanks to a set of Brembo brakes, finished in a striking teal finish. However, it's the last addition to this vehicle that makes this a complete drag racing build.
