Ford Mustang with a complete widebody kit, joined by lightweight Forgestar M14 modular forged wheels
When we first laid our eyes on the
Ford Mustang 5th generation, we knew it will be one of the most popular cars among the tuning crowds. And now, when the price of used Mustangs of this generation dropped thanks mostly to the introduction of the 6th Gen Mustang, this is becoming increasingly truer. And this particular red widebody Ford Mustang build is a perfect example of how well the vehicle is received in the aftermarket tuning world.
Featuring a complete
widebody kit and a set of lightweight
Forgestar M14 wheels, the vehicle ticks almost all the boxes. While widebody builds are usually found on JDM builds like the Acura NSX, Toyota 86 or the Scion FRS, this American Muscle car looks daunting with a much wider stance. As you will see from the media gallery, this Ford Mustang comes with larger front and rear fenders, a new front and rear bumper, joined by a large hood scoop and side rear air intakes. Furthermore, the vehicle features a time attack inspired front lip, completing the aero additions.
The M14 is a rather revolutionary wheel, as it features a modular construction that allows the wheels to be lighter, stronger and cheaper than fully forged alternatives. This wheel features a rotary formed center and inner barrel, joined by a forged rolled lip. In turn, the wheels are significantly stronger than their cast counterparts, but also, cheaper to make than their fully forged alternatives as well.
For this build, we've machined these
Forgestar M14 wheels in
sizes of 18x10.5 and 18x12 in the front and rear, respectively. Furthermore, they are wrapped in
Toyo R888 rubber,
sized 305/35/18 and 335/30/18 in the front and rear, respectively. The wheels feature Matte Black centers, joined by Gloss Black lips. Furthermore, the wheels showcase a fully exposed hardware option, adding even more intricate details to their mesh Y-Spoke design. In turn, this makes them a perfect addition to a build like this.
